Are Your Flights Cancelled?

One of the most popular budget airlines have threatened to cancel all of their flights to a certain sunny destination situated within the Canary Islands due to a row with the local tourism group. The airline has threatened to axe all the flights due to Fuerteventura’s tourism group not honouring their contract. The airline has already cancelled their flights to Valencia sue to their local tourism board not going ahead with part of the contract.

Fuerteventura can usually expect around 250,000 visitors who have come on board the budget airline. They have until the 6th of December to agree to their terms otherwise flights from all of their nine destinations will cease to take off.

This move will negatively affect both parties but the airline feels their reaction is necessary and that they need to take a strong stand with local tourism boards.

If you have booked flights to Fuerteventura you should make sure you are not affected, check your holiday’s details and rebook if you feel you could have your flights cancelled. You will be able to take advantage of cheaper flights which are available if you book early, the sooner the better.

If you have booked using a debit card, you may struggle in claiming your money back. If this is the case you should check your travel insurance as sometimes flights or holiday cancellation is covered in your policy. Some travel insurance policies can cover a variety of holiday mishaps from lost luggage, cancelled holidays to holiday providers going into administration.

International Flights

International flights connect across borders and have services to prominent business and tourist destinations of the world. Flights that service beyond the national borders of any country are known as International flights. Certain examples are Atlantic Airlines, Air India, Qantas and Air Emirates.

Indian Carriers to International Destinations

The three major Indian carriers that ply to 25 international destinations are:

* Air India: Till 1994, this was the only international flight service. Today, it is the official national carrier and flies to all major destinations, such as New York, Istanbul, Chicago, Toronto, London, Moscow, Singapore and Hong Kong.

* Jet Airways: It is a luxury airline service plying to 18 international destinations, such as Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Bangkok, Brussels, Dubai, Colombo, Dhaka, Doha, London, Kathmandu, New York, Muscat, Singapore, Riyadh and Toronto.

* Kingfisher Airlines: Kingfisher Airlines launched its international flights with the acquisition of Air Deccan. It is India’s only 5-star certified airline. It has three unique classes of service – Kingfisher First (Business class), Kingfisher Class (Premium economy) and Kingfisher Red (Low fare). Kingfisher First and Kingfisher Class are available for international flights as well.

Travelling With Electrical Goods

In this day in age, it seems that everyone has at least once piece of electronic equipment with them every waking hour. Maybe an MP3 player, mobile phone, blackberry, laptop or camera. If you are one of the individuals that regularly travel around with one or more of these electronic items, there is a good chance that you will be taking them with you when you catch a flight. If so, there is a chance that you may have questions as to with whether or not they are a violation of air travel rules.

In face, the majority of electrical equipment is allowed on national and international flights.  However, it is always a good idea that you check with your airline or airport, in advance.  Since most electronic items are expensive, you not want to get to the airport only to learn that you are prohibited from bringing all of your belongings with you, especially something as expensive as most electronic equipment. 

As discussed earlier, many travelers have a mobile or pager with them at all times.  All mobile phones and pagers are permitted aboard airplanes. In addition to being permitted onboard, they are allowed to be stored in your carryon baggage. Your mobile phone or pager, like most other electrical equipment, will be suspect to inspection if required by security staff.
